Campaign Priorities

1. Affordable & Accessible Housing for All Goal: Ensure every resident has access to safe, affordable, and stable housing. Expand Affordable Housing: Partner with developers, nonprofits, and state agencies to increase funding for affordable housing projects. Prevent Displacement: Strengthen tenant protections, including eviction diversion programs and rent stabilization policies in vulnerable neighborhoods. Support First-Time Homebuyers:

  2. Workforce Development: Wor to enhance partnerships with Guilford County Schools, GTCC, and employers (Toyota, Boom, Honda Jet) to align training programs with high-demand jobs. 

  3. Living-Wage Jobs: Advocate for city contracts and incentives to prioritize businesses that pay fair wages and hire locally. 

  4. Revitalize Corridors: Target investment in underserved commercial areas (e.g., E. Market St., High Point Rd.) to spur equitable development. 

  5.  Safe & Connected Communities 

  6. Build trust between law enforcement and residents while addressing the root causes of crime. 

  7. Community Policing: Increase officer engagement in neighborhoods and expand crisis response teams for mental health/substance abuse calls. 

  8. Neighborhood Watch Support: Strengthen partnerships between police and community groups to enhance public safety. 

 

              Infrastructure

  1. Roads & Public Transit: Accelerate repairs for water lines and expand the Greensboro Transit Authority (GTA) routes to connect job centers. 

  2. Broadband Access: Partner with providers to close the digital divide in low-income neighborhoods where needed. 

  3. Green Infrastructure: Promote solar energy, energy-efficient buildings.
